2008 BIM Conference at UMass
March 29, 2012 in News and Events
In 2008 when UMass was undergoing comprehensive academic planning projects and managing a large capital construction program, I organized a syposium on BIM that tapped industry experts to discuss the benefits and challenges of the BIM delivery method. The Symposium wasdesigned around a Panel of Experts from selected owner’s groups, architectural/engineering, construction management and related consulting firms who were utilizing BIM for design, construction coordination and facilities management purposes. The event was attended by facility management professionals from University of Massachusetts system, staff of the Massachusetts Division of Capital Asset Management, representatives of the University of Massachusetts Building Authority, facilities managers from the Amherst, Hampshire, Mt. Holyoke and Smith college campuses, and members of the design and construction community that serves the UMass system. Facilities Planning conducted a survey of BIM use at the time and documente the symposium by gathering presentations and recording the discussion. If you are interested in the snapshop of BIM in time, visit the website at http://www.umass.edu/fp/BIM .

Thanks Ludmilla for posting this. I very much enjoyed the symposium at the time.
P.S. I added a title to the post – you can change it if you like.
